ANALISIS KESALAHAN SISWA KELAS V SD NEGERI 07 TALAWI HILIR DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL PECAHAN TAHUN PELAJARAN 2019/2020

Fractions are a mathematics subject taught at the Elementary School level. The concept of fractions is a basic concept used to learn other mathematical concepts. Therefore it is important for students to understand and master the concept of fractions well. The teacher must also be able to analyze the mistakes made by students in solving questions related to fractions. So that the teacher knows what mistakes were made by students and what caused them. After knowing the cause, the teacher can guide students in overcoming these problems. The purpose of this study was to describe the mistakes of students in grade V SD Negeri 07 Talawi Hilir in solving fraction problems. This research is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects of this study were 15 grade V SD Negeri 07 Talawi Hilir students consisting of 7 female students and 8 male students. The data collection techniques used in this study were tests and interviews. Based on the explanation of research results and discussion of the percentage of student errors, namely 1) 50% misconceptions; 2) principle error of 18.75%; and 3) carelessness error of 31.25%. Concept errors occur because students misunderstand the concept of fractions. Principle errors occur. Principle errors occur in multiplying fractions with whole numbers, multiplying fractions with decimal fractions, and dividing ordinary fractions by decimal fractions. Careless errors occur because of students' mistakes in calculating both addition, multiplication, and division.
